What up People's. The Last time I, found myself AirBrushing was in Harlem. And That was scary. Not because of the environment but of the constant threat from the, people who I, was trying to serve. So this time around the surroundings were much better. which is always cool. When I create something I try to do my best as I, should. But if time is not on your side there is very little I, can do about it. So for those of you who did not get a, T-Shirt from me. I would be glad to write your name on paper when time permits me and, I will post them here. I would also like to Thank Wendy Robert And The Birthday girl Rikki Wolf again for letting me serve some swell looking Graffitish pieces at Rikki party which was a,blast. The Thought's, The Thanx, And Everything Else!!!
Today's post is one long over due. Over the last several weeks I've been caught up with a lot of work- Graffiti, Comics, etc. It's the kind of stuff that allows me to create the usual- something slick. Here are a few thoughts about this, that and the third. The art is personal because how I'm feeling that day affects the flow of my pieces.
Back in the day there was just a few of us who did comics and Graff, but we were not so much on the Inking tip. So when I met this big, intimidating dude by the name of Grey, he introduced me to Inking. It quickly became something I wanted to be apart of. This was mainly because it is so relative to Graffiti art in terms of line art.
In the mid 90's Grey introduced me to the world of Comics and made sure I understood the craft of producing them. If you pick up a comic, sure you look at it, read it, and you might like it if the story is good. As an artist you think differently. Some of us Graffiti artists would most likely bite certain scenes because we don't know better (at least we didn't know at the time) because we were younger, which brings me to this point. Graffiti writers are most likely to become better Inkers or Colorists because craftsmanship is the basis of the medium. That's my opinion on the subject. As a penciler, that idea is still questionable. I want all my people's to understand, Graff writers have the utmost pride when it comes to our pieces, which would explain the Ego.
When I first started writing Graff, I would start at the top of the page with markers and outline the outer rim (no joking). I went through the whole process of structure, styling, and all that other Shit in effort to rock a Burner. Guys, it bugs the Shit out of me when some of y'all do this Pop Graffiti Art crap. It's not all bad, but Graffiti Art is about self-expression and it's complimented with Style. When writers get together to rock outlines, then it becomes a collaborative effort among writers. Those being said, if you don’t understand the science of writing, don’t even try to write. It's insulting to those of us who are true writers. I'm not trying to take away what you guy do in terms of writing, but if you Rock Wack Shit I WILL LET YOU KNOW like most REAL GRAFFITI ARTIST would.
When I think of Hip-Hop's humble beginnings it takes me back to simpler times. My block was all about Hip-Hop culture as well as writers. Like Tracey 168, Nik One. TRIM KD, Zank W, TEZ3, Host, AK and so many other writers. These guys made a difference for me and they inspire me to continue producing this art Shit. As a Graff Writer, I have done it all. So I do know what it's like to be wack (where writers flat out say your Shit Is wack). I know the feeling of some TOY going over your Shit and I know first hand WHAT BEEF IS. The same goes for Inking. God knows I had some ruff times at that.
Developing my skills as an Inker was no different than harnessing my skills as a Graffiti Artist. I am still paying my DUES!!! I still have lots to learn. I'm not here to downplay pencilers, I do have respect for you guys, but I'm just trying to put some value back in Graff. So please understand my ranting so much on this matter.

GREYMAN, Thank You for taking me in no matter how F#@! up I was back then. Steve Harris thanks for showing how to blow up a page and make it look so FRESH FRESH FRESH! Old school baby. Gus Vazquez my man I didn't see you much, but you still showed me love, Peace Fam. Louis Small I'm still waiting on that Evil small Shit. It's cool No love lost there. KOI "Making noise" Turnbull when I first got started Inking you were the first to hit me off with some sample pages (which I still have to this very day), you're the Best man. I saved the Best for last, Rob "The illist Skillist" Stull there were these stories about this dude who came from Boston who happened to write Graff, the industry's top Inker. At first I thought to myself, even though I was part of the studio, I still didn't know enough about Inking. Enter Mike Ringo and Independent comics. I was so into those books, but that's another topic. I was trying to understand line weights. So I picked up this book called Tellos. It was one of the slickest books I've seen at that time. Rob was the Inker for the book back then. I had no idea he was living in N.Y at the time and it was to my surprise when he walked in the studio with his workbook. My eyes popped out of my head like what the Fuck man. Later that year, I think Rob took me in and the rest as they say is history. The story is longer, but I don't want to bore y'all with that. Rob is one of my Best friends and I don't know how I could have gotten this far with out him. Not to mention Mark Morales (you almost killed me man)- many thanx to you to Bro.
The people I have mentioned came from Grey studio among others. Without these kind men I couldn't have done this. I would like to Thank all who support the art I produce. Graffiti and comic Art are very dear to me, something more than just a craft, thank you all. Not to mention Ace MCFLY, SNOWQM8, AJOSEPH, MADSCI, also the Illist of friends you guys are great. Thank you for staying true.
Now for the info part: There will be a website hopefully online by the end of the year, a sketch book full of goodies, and more posts because the blog is a motivational thing. Okay, that's it. Have A Good Weekend!

Latey i've been experimenting on, ruff paper. Mainey because I, wanted to finish some of the many outlines I, start. I might do more finishes on the, ones I've done. Like this one here In, effort to post more cool pieces. When I, was a, kid this is what I, saw most of the time in Black Books from, other Graff Writers which ultimentey made me into one.
